As the founder of International Figure Skating magazine in 1993 (leaving in 2004), which he built to the world’s largest for that sport, Lund was often selected by news organizations to comment on and analyze the sport.
While serving as a figure skating analyst for CNN during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Lund was one of the first reporters to identify French judge Marie-Reine Le Gougne as the center of the judging controversy in the pair competition. During the course of those Games, Lund made a total of 220 media appearances, including ABC, CBS, MSNBC, FOX, ESPN, BBC, NPR, CBC and CTV, to provide insight on the workings of the sport of figure skating.
Lund authored his first book in November 2002 titled Frozen Assets: The New Order of Figure Skating.
In addition to writing and producing several national television commercials that have aired on ABC, ESPN and TBS, Lund has also produced corporate promotional videos as well as major events that have included themed cruises and award shows. He has also appeared in a national radio commercial for Xerox, was featured in a national TV commercial for Scene magazine as well as an instructional English language DVD.
An avid fan of science fiction and enthusiastic supporter of the exploration of space, in 2006 Lund wrote a feature-length sci-fi drama titled First World, (www.firstworldmovie.com ) which was nominated for Best Screenplay at the California Independent Film Festival in 2007 and Top Ten, Science Fiction, The Movie Deal in 2008.
To bring First World to life, along with his efforts to secure funding for the feature length version as an independent production, Lund condensed his screenplay and produced a 25 min. short film version. The short has screened at numerous science fiction conventions in the United States, Australia, Japan, India, Ireland and the United Kingdom. In 2009, First World was released to DVD by IndieFlix and made its debut on Hulu.
In 2008, Lund directed an IMTA talent program that included the instruction of 20 students in a classroom setting for 10 weeks, where he developed the curriculum to train them in various forms of acting (cold reading, monologue, etc.). At the IMTA convention in New York City they received 120+ agency callbacks and 100+ awards.
Today, Lund, who resides in Massachusetts, continues to work to secure funding for First World while pursuing opportunities in the entertainment and media industry.
